SUNDAY IN REVIEW

• Off to a GREAT start for the New Year!

• Thank God for volunteers! As usual, a great team of volunteers really helped make stuff happen this weekend. Melanie, Paul, Ron, Deborah, Jess, Denise, Chris, Jeremy, Bill, Nikki, Regina, David, Jon, Mike, Caley, Bethany, Zach, Shannon, Brian, Laquita, Regina, Ron, Sheri… Hope I’m not leaving anybody out. You guys did an incredible job! Thank you.

• Great attendance. It’s cool to see the room starting to fill up! Can’t wait until it is jammed. Oh, yeah!

• Loved today’s worship set. Today Is The Day (Lincoln Brewster), Counting On God (Desperation Band and New Life Worship), Open Up The Sky (Deluge), How He Loves (John Mark McMillan or Kim Walker), Knees To The Earth (Watermark)

• Sure we’ll be hearing Counting On God and Open Up The Sky again.

• God has blessed us with a kickin’ band.

• Loved hearing our people sing! Awesome!

• Thanks to Robin and Erin for reading Malachi 1 today. Want to do more of the corporate reading of Scripture (1 Timothy 4:13).

Stephen Burton is the man. Another great set of graphics and bumper. Shouldn’t surprise me. After all, Stephen is a "creative genius."

• Love the new series ReSeT. The book of Malachi is rocking my world. Really feel that today’s message was important. I’ll post the notes for later tonight or sometime tomorrow.

• Today's Message Title: Reset 1 – Love, Worship and the Whole Crazy Thing. (Thanks to Keith Urban for inspiration on the title. No, I don't know him, but I did buy his CD.)

• Today we talked about how to ReSeT spiritually. I spent a lot of time talking about what motivates our worship - God's mysterious, sovereign, extravagant love; and the need for giving God your first and best and worshiping God with passion in every area of life.

• This series is going to stretch me. Next week we’re tackling Malachi 2 and how to ReSeT in the area of personal relationships. Make certain you bring somebody. Seriously, an important message for marriages and friendships.

• Started our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting with Holy Communion. Really loved the approach we took with communion today. I’m always challenged when we worship through Holy Communion.

• Great worship at the end. Loved hearing Caley and our people sing, “Be blessed. Be loved. Be lifted high. Be treasured here. Be glorified. I give my life to You, My Lord. Here I am. Knees to the earth.” Oh, wow. Just about knocked the wind out of me.

Counting On God is officially one of my favorite rockin’ worship tunes at the moment.

• Excited about everyone participating in Reset: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. God is going to rock your world.

• Early Morning Prayer tomorrow at 6 is going to be here way to soon. Pulling out the baseball hat and jogging pants tonight.

• Looking forward to the a2 Dream Team Session this Wednesday at 6:30 pm. We’ll be working through Mark Driscoll’s book, Vintage Church and talking about stuff like the mission, core values, strategy, doctrine and ministry of a2. Important stuff. We’ll see what God does with this class.

• Praying over the course of the next 21 days we really develop a passionate heart for God and that He totally reorient our lives. Praying that we HIT RESET.

You should make the sermons available online, perhaps as a Podcast or even as CD sets that can be ordered from the church website. Sounds like great stuff!

Thanks, Brian. FYI, we do have a podcast available on iTunes. Just type a2 Church or Chris Goins into iTunes Search Engine. It should bring us up...

If you're not an iTunes user, we also publish our services on Switchpod. You can access it at www.switchpod.com and just type a2 Church into their Search Engine.

On another note, thanks for the idea on CD series available through our website. We'll attempt to make that one happen.

God's best to you.
