FOUR TERRIFIC BOOKS!

Here are a few books that I'm reading right now that are well worth your time and money.

by Joshua Harris

Harris explains the basics of Christianity and why knowing what you believe is so important. I highly recommend this book. It's readable, enjoyable and sound.

One of the things that makes the book so enjoyable is that instead of just conveying lots of facts, Harris actually takes us on a personal journey and gives us a glimpse as to how some of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith have revolutionized his life. This is a great book, especially as a resources for UNSHAKEABLE.

Sally Lloyd-Jones

This is one of the best books you'll ever read! Whether you're a parent with young children or a 45-year old dude like me who just loves great writing and art, this book is awesome!

Being the dad of three girls, I've spent way too much money on children's books that were not well-written at all, had crummy art work, and sometimes were even theologically way off base. But in "The Jesus Storybook Bible," Sally combines great writing with sound theology. And, by the way, her illustrator, some guy named "Jago" is simply amazing!

The book is available on Amazon for $11.55 per book. It's a book that you'll read again and again and again. It's also a great resource for the new series, UNSHAKEABLE. Check it out today.

by John Ortberg

It's no secret, John Ortberg is one of my favorites. He has this amazing ability to combine solid, keen biblical insight with practical, life-related, "Christianity in blue jeans and tennis shoes" application.

Ten plus years ago, God used his book, "The Life You've Always Wanted," to assist me in a basic understanding of some spiritual practices / disciplines that transformed my walk with God. Now, Ortberg comes back with another book on spiritual growth, that once again, God is using to change me.

The first three chapters alone are worth the purchase price of the book. But, what's also cool, is that with the book you get access to a personal assessment tool called Monvee that will assist you in discovering the way God has wired you up.

by Wayne Grudem

If your cup of tea leans more to the academic side of things, Grudem's "Systematic Theology" sets the standard. Clear writing. A strong emphasis on the Scriptural basis for every doctrine, and language that you can actually understand. I've had this book since the mid-to-late 90's and find myself going back to it again and again...

This is another great resource for the new series UNSHAKEABLE. By the way, it's got a hefty price tag on it. You'll want to get this one from Amazon, for sure.
