NEVER GIVE UP!

If you know me then you know I am a huge Tennessee Vols fan! Last night, the Lady Vols, in the lowest scoring game in Final Four history, scored the winning basket of the game with only .07 seconds left sending them to the National Championship game against Stanford tomorrow night. It was enough to send UT fans into cardiac arrest!

Tomorrow night Pat Summit and the UT Lady Vols will play for their eighth - that's right, count 'em - EIGHTH National Championship.

Watching the Vols play in the Elite Eight and in last night's Final Four was a testament to the power of tenacity and perseverance...

Candace Parker, UT's star player, was injured in their game against Texas A&M in the regional finals. During that game she dislocated her shoulder TWICE... Somehow, she continued to play and ended up scoring 26 points in the game. In Sunday evening's game against LSU, even though she wasn't at her best, she still scored 13 points and pulled down 15 rebounds... She was tenacious...

Then there's Alexix Hornbuckle, who hadn't scored a point in the game against LSU. She stayed with it and scored the final putback that put UT over the top...

Finally, there's Pat Summit. Wow! This is her 34th year as Head Coach of the UT Lady Vols... She is the all-time winningest coach in NCAA basketball history... She is the REAL DEAL...

So, here's hoping that tomorrow night Summit, Parker, Hornbuckle and the rest of the gang find the perseverance to go the distance ONE MORE TIME...

What about you and me?

Well, here's hoping that whatever challenges life throws at us, like Candace Parker we'll continue to play through the pain... After all, you and I were made for this! Like Alexis Hornbuckle we'll keep putting the ball back in play until we hear the final whistle blow! And, like Pat Summit we'll not allow our passion for our calling to wane even after 34 years and 7 national championships... We'll always stay HUNGRY.

With only seven seconds left in the game and one point down, UT moved the ball the length of the court, put the ball in play and walked away with the game winning basket with less than a second to play...

THEY NEVER GAVE UP!

Here's praying that YOU NEVER GIVE UP on God's purpose, plan and calling for your life.

By the way, GO VOLS!

I'm truly amazed at how you can find something spiritual about the TN Vols... male or female. I've said it before and I'll say it again... you have a gift. On a serious note... NEVER GIVE UP.

Just like you can find something spiritual about the University Alabama... Hey! You guys even have a spiritual slogan: "Crimson Tide!" Now, that's sermon material...

Thanks, bro.

Why does Candace Parker wear long sleeve shirts under her jersey? Just saw that the other night and was curious.. Maybe she is old school UPC or something... hey maybe tonight she will be playing in a knee length demin skirt too..

TR: That was the first time Candace had worn the long sleeved white shirt under her jersey all season... She wore it to cover the brace that helped to hold her dislocated shoulder in place... But who knows, she could be old school COG? Keep the faith
