Once... Twice... Eight Times A NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!

Yep! That's her all right!

Tonight Pat Summit and the UT Lady Vols cut down the nets for the EIGHTH STINKIN' TIME!!! You gotta smile! You gotta say, "Wow!" You got admit Pat Summit is an amazing coach!

The Lady Vols easily handled Stanford 64-48 in the National Championship Game.

As for NEVER GIVING UP! The entire team stepped up.

Candace Parker, the best player in the nation, scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. That was expected. What wasn't expected was the way the rest of the team stepped up, not only defensively, they usually play great defensive ball. What was amazing is the way the rest of the team stepped up offensively.

Shannon Bobbitt scored 13 points in the first half. And Nicky Anosike scored 12 points, grabbed 8 boards and terrorized Stanford with 6 steals.

The Lady Vols were tenacious. I'm still smiling at midnight!

What about Pat Summit?

Her record at Tennesse is 983 wins and 182 losses... That's a winning percentage of 84 percent! She has won 104 of the 123 NCAA tournament games in which her teams have competed. She has led the Lady Vols to 27 consecutive NCAA tournaments, every one since the women have had a tournament. Wow.

One more thing: Her teams have won 8, yes, 8 national championships!!!

If you're any kind of a sports fan at all, you've got to recognize greatness when you see it!

Great job, Pat! Great job, Candace! Great job, UT Vols!

One more thing, Phil Fulmer, if you're reading, please talk to Pat Summit right away...
